Because 200 Russians didn't beat up thousands of English in one sitting did it vlad, 200 Russians picked off sometimes smaller groups of English a bit at a time, anyway who gave the figure of thousands of English, all appears a bit vague to me.

This whole business has a rather baffling aura to it.
You have this (allegedly) well organised and motivated crew of approximately 150 Russian thugs going into action totally unabashed for all the World to see.
Putin is alleged to be cheering them on.
Numerous questions come to mind.
For example;
Why would Putin promote such thuggishness, especially given that Russia 2018 has already been criticised in many quarters?
Surely this won't help their hopes of hanging on to that tournament.
Why now?
Russia have participated in several tournaments on European soil, but we have seen nothing like this until now.
Who benefits?
Certainly not Russia, as alluded to above.
The heat has been on Russia for a few years now.
Wrongly blamed for the South Ossetia and Ukraine situations.
Blamed for MH17, when there is no proof of what exaclty happened, never mind who did it.
The allegations of widespread doping in the athletics world, and intimidation of anti-doping officials.
Undoubtedly some Russian athletes push the boundaries to the limits AND beyond, just as happens in any other country, but they really are being accused of institutional contempt for the laws of world sport.
And now THIS.
The thugs we saw in Marseilles are idiots, but I suspect strongly they are being used by someone as 'useful idiots'.

The French have jailed three Russians for 24 mth stretches for Marseilles and apparently captured more, seemingly they have revised their thinking a tad.

Seems no, or hardly any russian ultras were nicked in Marseille, and most of the ones detained were just taken to the border.
Now there are reports of a load of spanish tourists who got done in Cologne. They're making a right old beano of this.
